So I have survived my first (almost) month here in the I.E. and man has it been an experience!!! I have spent plenty of time out here prior to moving here, but I have learned some things since I have become a full time resident. Here are a few:
-I miss O.C. weather already! I am thankful that I still work there so I get to enjoy most of my day either indoors or enjoying the average 80 degrees!!
-ALWAYS wear sunscreen...even if you think you are only going out for a few!! Sometimes it is so hot, you don't wanna be cooped up in the house so then the pool sounds good, but then a sunburn arises..no fun...I learned that my first week here.
-Living with my best friend is the best. With Toby gone for work, I now don't have to spend time all by myself unless I want to!
-Unexpected summer storms are amazing. I love thunderstorms. We had a wonderful one today. BEAUTIFUL!!
-Yes, the drive is NOT fun, but what a pretty drive it can be.
-I haven't lost King Taco!! That is an adventure to get to, but at least I don't have to drive all the way to Long Beach to get my fix. :)
-Being able to sleep through the night is the best. In 3 weeks I have not had to wake up to drunk people outside my window. Yes, I have to go to bed much earlier now on weekdays, but sleeping undisturbed has been great.
-And last, but not least....Fastrack is the best invention ever. I don't know how I used to make this drive almost every weekend without it. Now that I must travel on the 91 fwy at rush hour, I have never been more thankful to save 20 mins of my day.
All in all, this move has been a good decision. I had some doubts and fears at first and the first week was really tough emotionally and physically. I will always love Orange County, but knowing that I have the best friends anyone could ask for and an amazing husband has made this move away from everything I know so much easier.
